Volunteer to phone or canvass

Right now Recall Walker urgently needs volunteers to help with phone calls and canvassing.

In Portage and Waupaca Counties anyone who wants to know how to help with phoning or canvassing can speak with Katrina Shankland, Democratic Party staffer at the Portage County headquarters.

Help with Galloway recall

As you probably know, United Wisconsin has launched a recall effort against
the senator from the 29th district, Pam Galloway.  The recall effort is
going into its 2nd  month, and organizers are planning a big canvassing push
for December 27-30. 

AFT-Wisconsin is asking members to participate and help with this effort by
reporting to the Wausau Recall Walker Office at 4404 Stewart Ave.  The
office will be open for canvassing between 8am and 9pm on those days, and
any help that you can provide would be most appreciated!

SPARC to Charter

SPARC will become the first new union local – public or private – to charter in the Scott Walker era. To charter with the national AFT, we had to meet certain benchmarks, including having a constitution, electing officers and meeting membership requirements. Our most recent membership push put us over the top. Congratulations to all. We will be celebrating this milestone at our CAN Walker party (see separate post).
